TUDOR CITY
For a Salvadoran-born client with a minimalist sensibility, a love of color, and a growing collection of modern art by South American and Hispanic artists, this Tudor City home explores the balance between restraint and expression.
An earlier renovation combined two apartments around a central cube with sliding doors reminiscent of the shoji doors of traditional Japanese homes. Building on this architecture, we unified the palette through warm neutrals and carefully considered finishes, creating a harmonious canvas for the client’s art and playful accents of color. In the den, a custom mural developed in collaboration with the Fernando Llort Studio brings that interplay into full expression: an enveloping celebration of color and heritage.
